TENNIS.
Australian &.N.Z. Cable Association.] NEW YORK. Sept. 27. A variety of rumours concerning the visit of Millie. Lenglen and other tennis players to Australia have been branded as false l>y Air l’yle, who states that the plans even for the American tour are not yet lonnulaled. Air Ryle six weeks ago announced that he hoped, after the Davis Cup matches and the National Singles, to be able to engiige a number of prominent male players for an American tour, but all the leading players have denied their intention of turning professional. Anything assuming the proportions of a world’s tour for Air Pyle’s players is generally doubted, as is the probabiljtv of the success of an American tour, upon which excursions abroad, including one to Australia, would depend. Air Ryle at present has engaged only Afd'ile. Lenglen, Miss Alary Brown and Feret, and it is questioned whethci these, without- considerable augmentations, would be sufficient tor playing exhibitons.
