Thousands assembled in the streets leading to the Depot to farewell the Governor-General and Lady Byng, who took a train to-day for Quebec, to embark for England. Lord Byng’s last official act was to lay the altar cornerstone in the Alemoriat Chamber, Victory Tower, at Parliament Buildings at noon.
