Beautifully dressed and with constantly changed costumes the stage scene was a very bright one. A full orchestra supplied capital music, one fault however in the first half being that the accompaniments were too heavy for the soloists, who suffered somewhat as a result. The programme was a very lengthy one without a dull moment, item following item in rapid succession, and whether it was chorus, solo, or instrumental number each was very pleasing and enjoyable. Hearty recalls were given to almost every item, while the violin solos and the dancing of a star midget and a banjo duet were specially approved and the audience were hardly satisfied with treble recalls being responded to. Altogether the entertainment was a very successful and enjoy able one and reflected every credit on those responsible for the very attraeivc programme presented. An accident happened at the intersection of Hampden and Fitzlicrbert Streets last evening about 7.20 o’clock, as the result of a collision between a motor cycle ridden by Air M. Aland!, and a spring cart driven by Alaster Alnir and containing Airs Aluir senr., and Airs AleSaveney, of Three Alile. The cart was being driven down Eitzlicrbert Street and Air Alandl came from towards Hevcll Street. The latter moved away from the cart but the back wheel struck the horse and brought it down, the two shafts of tho trap being smashed and the occupants of the cart were thrown out on to the road. Airs Aluir suffered severe injuries. including a broken collar bone, but the others received only bruises and abrasions, not of a severe nature. The horse was not damaged while neither the motor cycle or rider were injured. Mrs Aluir was removed to Westland Hospital where her injuries received attention.
