A FATAL JUMP. LONDON. August 2. A woman, terrified when the house in whirl I ', she was living in M.oiltagu:! Square.- W.. caught lire this morning, jumped from Che fourth floor and fell into the area at the hark. When picked up, she was found to be seriously injured and died in St. Hilary's Hospital The fire broke out shortly before F'ree o'clock, the .second and third floors of the house bursting suddenly into llaiucs. All the .occupants were aroused immediately. As the engines of the Fire Brigade arrived in the street, the woman was seen by neighbours living at the hack of the house to appear at a window on tf.ie ton floor. .Slu; had been awakened by the clanging of Jhe lire hell, am! apparently became uitaoived when, on looking through the window, she saw that the ■house was on lire. She screamed loudly ami crawled on to the sill of the window while flames and smoke rose from the windows of the lower Hours. Still screaming, the woman was seen to jump. When she 101 l into the area, "peefators rushed to'assist t'.’.cr. An ambulance was .summoned and she was taken to n Mi. Wary's Hospital. Kir.' died shortly after being admitted. She has not vet been identified.
