At Avignon, the .Maoris heat a Littoral team by 29 to 8, The match between the Alaoris and the Littoral team was u hotly contested one, hut the Alaoris wore not extended. Barclay opened the scoring in the first spell with a try, and he added another two tries before the first half ended, Potaka converting two of 'the tries. For the Littoral team, Ferigoule kicked a penalty goal, and Pora- ■ chics scored a try, which Fcrigoulo converted. The half times scores thus were .Maoris II: Littoral team 8. The play was of a higher standard ■ in the second 'half, when a fine .display of Rugby was witnesed. Barclay could not be held out, and ho scored another three tries. Robinson also scored a try, and Potaka converted two. There was a. large attendance, which greatly admired the Maoris virtuosity, team work, speed, vigour and quickness in profiting from their opponents’ mistakes, resulting in their constant possession of the hall. Barclay was easily the most prominent player,' while Bell and Phillips also played magnificent games. The .Maori team was: McDonald, Barclay, Potaka, Falwasser, Love, Wineera, Shortlaml, Bell, Alanning, Denlis, Haupapn, Crawford. Gemmell, Jlsen and Alanuhera.
