COBHAM’S FLIGHT

(Received this day at 8 a.m.) DELHI, Sept. 23. Cohliam hasi arrived at Karachi. COBHAM’S RETURN. LONDON, Sept. 23. The suggestion has been made that Captain Cobham should end his great flight on the Serpentine in the heart ■of London, where there is plenty of room for welcoming crowds. Air experts surveyed this area yesterday, and reported favourably. It is understood that they will seek official permission to make an experimental landing before Cobham’s arrival. COBHAM’S. HOMECOMING(Received this day at 12.25 p.m.l LONDON,’September' 23. Newspapers are early discussing the prospect that Cobham should land on Serpentine in Hyde Park. An alternative suggestion was made that he should alight' on the Thames near the Houses of Parliament, hut this is not being considered officially. The “ Morning Post’s ” aviation expert states normally the Air Ministry prohibits aircraft flying over London, though no precise height, limit exists. Being in a seaplane Cobham would be able "to keep within gliding distance of tho Thames and thus avoid the risk of a crash in crowded streets. The at tual alighting on the Serpentine will need tho most skilful judgment if there is a cross wind, as the trees present a low approach. It would he very regrettable to .attach any unnecessary risk to the close of a magnificent flight. If the weather is in any way . unsuitable I hope the Serpentine landi ing will be reconsidered.” ,
