VICE-REGAL PARTY.

BLENHEIM. Sept. 21. Tin.- Governor-General and Lady AI ice Fergusson arrived at Picton this morning on tho Xgio on the first official visit to Marlborough. A close holiday was observed and the town Heflitiged. The weather was beautiful. The Vice-Regal party were formally welcomed by the Mayor and member for the district. The children of the Picton schools and the Girl Guides ac\ted as guard of honour. ihore was a large attendance of the public. After the address of welcome, and His Excellency's reply, followed a. round of festivities to end with h citizens ball to-night. To-morrow the party will motor to Blenheim.
