Tho Canterbury Education Board 1 met at Christchurch on Friday morning:.. Air AV. P. Spencer presiding. Others present were Messrs 11. J. Bignell, T. Hughes, 11. AA’ild, AV. Johnson, C. S. Thompson, AA r . A. Banks, J. Maze, G. AA r . Armitage, AV. H. AA’insor, J. G. Gow, ad E. H. Andrews. Appointments confirmed included : Goldsborough, Airs AI. T. AATiglit, sole teacher; Kumara, Aliss C. AI. Pauimcnt, assistant mistress. Appointments of substitute-assis-tants were confirmed: —ltunanga, Aliss AI. Knowles. > Resignations accepted included:— Bruce Bay, Air 11. S. parr, S.T. (to Kimbell). Air Alackay (Truant Ofiicer for-West I Coast) reported having visited 11 1 schools, sent out- 7 notices, and interI viewed lo parents. I Tho School Aledical Ollicer reported that during the past two months 28 schools had been visited, 8231 children examined, 493 parents interviewed, 13 addresses given to school children, lectures given to Training College students. and various other duties attended to in connexion with dental clinics, and visits to hospitals with children. It was resolved to urge again on the Alinister the desirability of the provision of travelling dental clinics. A letter from the Department drew attention to the conditions under which ii-eo school season tickets were granted, ail'd stated that there was reason to believe that the privilege was being abused. Tho letter was received.
