BOXING.
BY Tf.LKC.HArH —PRESS - ASSN., COPYRIGHT THE BIG BON. NEW YORK, September 19. , Dempsey and Tuuney each plan only two work-outs before entering the ring at Philadelphia at 9 o’clock on the evening of Thursday and experts say both are in the pink of condition. The challenger sparred with two partners to-day, while Dempsey used three, both making impressive showings. Kearns, formerly Dempsey’s manager, predicted that Tunney’s youth should give him the victory, but the odds are still on the champion, lengthening from two to one, to twelve to five. One wager of .500.000 dollars is being offered at these odds, while considerable sums are being offered at- nine to two that Tunnev '"‘ill not win by a knock out. Dempsey caused something of a sensation last week by conducting training in private, no spectators being admitted. A controversy arose over the radio broadcasting of the fight, when the managers demanded 35.000 dollars for the privilege. A popular a, protest caused Mr Rickard to announce that he would arrange the broadcasting for the entire public without charge.
