By his will the Duke Of Orleans disinherits ' his wife, Archduchess Maria Dorothea, and deprives her of all rights whatsoever. The Duke left the English estate valued nt £150,490, also the value of the property in Belgium, Italy, France and elsewhere which is not stated. The bequests include an annuity of £6,000 and personal jewels to Mrs Violette Jarrott (wife of the racing motorist and formerly Lady Rosslyn). The King of Spain and other royalties receive portraits and jewels. His tWusin, the Due De Guise, receives Marie Antoinette’s sapphires. The Paris Musem receives the Natural History Collegion, accompanied hv an income of 2,500 francs. In the final codocil he says: “ 1 wish my mortal remains, which cannot be committed to the earth in France by my Tieloved Fatherland,'to be buried at sea in sight of France.” THE REASON WHY. » LONDON, September 19. lii connection with, the Duke of Orleans’ will, the Duke tried to secure an annulment of his marriage in 1904 on the ground of his wife’s childlessness. but the French royalties did not support him, as they believed the real reason was the Duke’s pleasure-loving instincts. Reconciliation was effected in 1907. but the Duchess in 1913 sued for maintenance on the ground of desertion. Later, the Duke«mado a seeond unsuccessful annulment application to tlie Pope.
