Grimmett, Ellis and Hendry are standin,, out of the Australian team. Smith playing. Palmer’s Eleven comprises Higson, Saint. Sutcliffe. Hendren.. Holmes, Afacaulny. George Gunn, Roy Kilner. Howe, Tyson. Whvsall and Pa rker.
The Australians played a one day match at Carlisle against Palmer’s Eleven which in the first innings made 197 for 5 wickets and declared. Richardson took 4 for 67. Australia replied with 207 for four wickets (Al.v enrtney 106. Taylor 37. Ponsford out 26). THE AVERAGES.
