“Unless the selectors are satisfied that the Bay team to play Canterbury is strong enough to do justice to the Bay. the match will not he tor the Uanfurly Shield.” This statement was made hy Norman AlcKenzie. the Bay Manager, when interviewed on arrival here to-day. The New Zealand League team was: Dully, Gardiner, Davidson, Brown, Brisbane, Sanders. Hall. Devine. Carrol. Herring, Alason. Alouatt and Avery. The tourists occasionally showed brilliant combination, the backs supporting each other well, but tlioy have not yet readied the excellence- of other Dominion teams. The forwards are. not yet able to get the hall in the scrums and are often badly beaten in them. Besides the others named in today’s match Hall was very peromineut among the hacks. PARIS. Sept. 15. Pelletier Doisy kicks off in the .Maori’s match against Burgundy, at Dijon to-morrow.
