BELGIUM AND TOURIST TAX. | BRUSSELS, July 29. 1 After severely criticising the various I proposals made for taxing foreign tourists and in some cases threatening to close their shops should the tax he at too high a figure. Belgian hotel keepers have, through their federation, forwarded their own suggestions to the King and the Prime Minister. They propose a daily tax of 20 francs on foreign-owued motor-cars entering Belgium. They also suggest that foreign visitors paying more than 50 francs a day for their rooms should pay a tax of ID francs a day, 5 francs per day for between 30 francs and 50 francs and 2 francs on rents of 30 francs.
