[BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WOMAN'S DEATH. AUCKLAND, Sept. 11. Mrs Pemberton, IM, the wife of Samuel Pemberton of .Ellerslie, was found on Bllerslie railway station platform at ten o’clock last night suffering from head injuries consistent with a fall from a train. A doctor pronounced life extinct. It is believed she was a passenger hv the train which arrived at Ellerslie’at D.lO and that her body bad been lying on the platform til! the arrival of the next train. GERMAN TO HE DEPORTED. AUCKLAND. September 10. After working for a year in tho country, Otto Schmidt, a deserter Irom the German ship Elfrieda. has been ordered to be deported, lie lias been appearing in the police court fairly regularly, while the .Minister has been considering his case and to-dav Air !L N. Moody, who appeared for Schmidt, said ibo Minister had advised that Schmidt could not remain in the country. Magistrate Hunt accordingly made an order for deportation. Accused: “ Can you send me to Australia ? ” The Magistrate: “No! We’ll send you back to Germany, where you came fro in.’’ A MENACE TO YOUNG GIRLS. WELLINGTON. Sept. 10. George Gledhill. ;;1, was convicted of an assault on a young girl, who entered his employ as a typisto. She sbated that, the following day. accused put- his arm round her. She got up and left ami complained to her mother. The- poiice stated that accused was a menace to young girls.
