It is reported that a second expedition will leave Hankow for Wanhsien immediately on the arrival of tlie Hawkins. It purposes effecting the release of further British vessels commandeered by Chinese. The details disclose that the first expedition was replete with heroism. The rescue was effected of six officers. Tt was especially daring. Wanhsien is believed to have been destroyed by the lyddite shellfire of the British. Many are dead. The ships of all nations are the targets of Chinese soldiers on both banks of the Ynngt.se River. Several casualties on the American gunboat Stewart, are recorded as the result of a conflict with General Yangscn’s troops. i Prince George, who has been attained with the Hawkins, is remaining. PEKING, Sept. 10. Marshal Wu Pei Fu is preparing te recapture Hankow wit!* the assistance of Shaiigtiing troops. Sun Chu Fang is rapidly advancing to attack the Cantonese, who have entered his territory. There has been .little lighting since the fall of Hankow. International go-operation h-_ been strengthened as a result of Yangtse events.
