ROY SCOUTS.

The Cubs who camped out last week made the very best of the excellent weather and are hoping to be able to show the results of their hard work when, in the near future, tlicv come ■up into the scout troop. One of the most interesting experiences was an evening hike along the beach for some miles to the south, loaded with tents, bedding and rations far supper and breakfast. Even the supply of drinking water was carried by the boys, and since- the season required a. heavy load of blankets per hoy the experience should encourage the elder lads to take up this most interesting form of camping which should be comfortable and easy with stronger shoulders and warmer nights. The committee of the Second Troop meet as usual on Tuesday when it will bo necessary to lix up final details lor Mm celebration of Ibis troop’s third birthday inwards the end of this month. Sixer R. .McCarthy lias passed the lest and qualified for his Atlilet.es Madge during the last week. Tin Second P ick lias already one or l;w.. names of bays to fill the vacant places of those who hope to go up into the scouts this month, but not all these are yet filled, and any further boys between eight and eleven years of ag who would like to take up Cubbing are asked to report themselves—with the written consent of their parents—..it the scout room next to the Swimming Baths next Tuesday or Sunday between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. All those boys wishing to take part in this week’s week-end camp should bring their kit with thorn to the scout meeting this Friday, ft is intended to proceed to camp immediately at the end of the meeting. Tomahawks and knives should lie brought. Also bows and arrows.
