WOMEN’S AND MEN’S WEAR.
(Received this day at 12.30 p.m.T LONDON. September 8. Lady Duff Gordon opened a Russian boot exhibition at Birmingham, where winter samples revealed zig-zag cubit designs, fur-topped, decorated collars and others of familiar concertina type. She said last year men complained of unsightly Russian hoots. Lots of girls shewed bare leg above the boot, which doubtless proved man was attracted by tM* uncovered portion. Simultancouscomes the announcement in the "Daily Express” that tango red hats will be the most fashionable man’s headgear. The President of the National Association of Outfitters says men want more and more colour, in their clothes and can no longer criticise -women. They are nearly outpacing them. Can anybody imagine men five years ago wearing such socks, ties, pull-overs and plus fours?
