A feature of the innings was the bowling of Collins who captured six wickets for seventeen. Bennett was the only batsman to make anything of a stand and brought off some nice drives. r l lie batsmen generally were impotent and did not attempt to hit and their efforts to stop tho ball were painful to watch. Their second strike was a bit more lively, Cook and Musson driving and cutting cleanly and powerfully, the- second wicket yielding fifty-six. Webb and Collins played out time, the game ending in a draw. A STRONG TEAM. LONDON, Sept. 6. Thornton’s eleven to play Australia ; s: A. 45. Gilligan, Carr, Jupp, G. T. Stevens, Hobbs. Sutcliffe. P.
