[BY TELEGRAPH rER PRESS ASSOCIATIO.S THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON. September 4. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The Bank of New Zealand Bill and Rural, Credits Bill were brought down by Governor-General message. Hon. AY. D. Stewart explained the purpose of the Bank of New Zealand was to increase the capital of the Bank for the purpose enabling it to make long dated loans. They were not making concessions in taxation to the Bank, but were simply putting State money into the Bank at six per cent. Tlio remainder of the sitting was spent on local bills. Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill, Tutukaka and AVhangarnru and AA’liananaki Harbours Control .Bills were read a second time. After considerable opposition, the debate on Auckland Provincial AA r ater Board Bill was adjourned and tlie House rose at 5.30 till 2.30 on Alonday.
