The Roumanian Government has sent a note to the Soviet, proposing a ten-years’ non-aggression treaty, and also the preserving of the peace on the ehstern frontiers. WIFE DESERTERS. AUCKLAND, September 3. A charge of deserting his wife in Australia was preferred against Abraham Alfred Gollinger, aged 33 years (Mr A. Moody) in the Police Court. Constable Fisher, of . New South Wales, said that a. warrant had been issued for the arrest of the accused iif«Bydney. - *Hr Moody submitted that the accused should not be sent back to Australia in view of the fact that he had a good position. Magistrate Hunt said he would be quite willing to grant a long adjournment so that the depositions could go across to Sydney. He thought this might be done in future cases.
