The Kawarau scheme gauge at Queenstown was still below the 4 foot 4 inches mark this morning, so that the rise since the gates were closed is still something less than an inch. Regarding Kawarau dam, a report from Cromwell to-night states that the Rliotovcr has backed the Kauai an up some nine inches. Prospecting on the Natural Bridge Claim, the workers secured with a dish two and a half ounces. The largest piece weighed six dwts. flood samples amounting to threequarters of an ounce, are reported at several other claims. One from the Lower Consolidated was got out of crevice. Another of three quarters of mi mince was got out of the “Golden Bed.” _ The A'ogel’s Vision Coy. are putting through likely looking wash.
