EXPLOSION IN YACHT. LONDON. July 4. The motor-yacht, Quo Vadis, owned by Major Goldman, of Chiswick', was about to leave Wellington Dock, Dover, for the Isle of Wight last night when a petrol tank exploded as a result of the engine misfiring. P.C. William Grigg. who is chief officer of the local fire brigade, went on board of the vessel, when a second explosion occurred, and he, the mainmast and part of the deck equipment were blown into the air. P C!. Grigg alighted on the deck, butowing to the fact that a large portion of woodwork fell on to him and that the vessel was burning furiously efforts made to release him were unsuccessful for several hours. Eventually a motorcoach was used as a kind of ciane to remove the woodwork, and it was then found that the constable was dead. Robert Humphries, who bad gone on hoard to render assistance, was badly burned about the face and body. _ The Quo Vadis bad been cruising in the Channel with Mr Goldman, soil ot the owner, and a crew of four. When the first explosion occurred Mr Goldman and the crew scrambled ashore but one member of the crew received injuries in rushing up from the engineroom and bad to be removed to hospital for treatment,
