The following are the closing day’s results: Aten’s Championship, final, over 36 ' holes: Shoe (Westport) heat Park (Westport) 6 and 5. Ladies’ Championship, final, over 18 holes: Miss Conway (Miramar) heat .Miss Lynskey (Rangiora) 5 and 4. Ladies’ Bogey Handicap—Aliss Leech, all square. Fixed Foursome: AfcCarthy and Airs AlcCarthy 93—14—79. The Afen's Flag Handicap provided a close and exciting finish. A- Smith Jun.. a young player of exceptional promise, left the flag p7n high, but
about two yards to the right of the 20th. green. Wild, faint yet pursuing. found himself on the 20th. tecwit.h one stroke in hand. With a last mighty effort, he landed the ball on the 20th. green Bft. from the hole, and won hy a margin of inches.
A JSTRALIAN CIiAAIPIONSHTP. ADELAIDE. Aug. 27. Ivo Whitton won the open golf championship of Australia, leading the field by three strokes, with a score of 297. Rufus Stewart was runner-up.
