This, is through personal conferences held between President Calles and the Prelates of the Episcopate. It is now confidently anticipated an agreement will result. CHURCH SERVICES TO RESUME. MEXICO CITY, August 22. At Hie conference, President Calles informed the prelates that tbe registration of the priests, as required by the new regulations, was only for administrative purposes, and that his Government did not intend to interfere with the dogmas of religion. The Mexican episcopate have- accepted Calles declaration! ft was therefore announced that ns soon as the churches had fulfilled these legal requirements, there was 110 objection to the renewing of the Church services. 111 the meantime, the Catholic Church will continue its efforts for constitutional amendment of religious clauses through Congress.
