At Montreal, Tawara defeated Paris, 6-2. 6-0, 6-2, in the first of the singles. ,Toba substituting Harnda defeated Banet 6-2, 6-0, 6-3, giving the Japanese a clean sweep. At Southampton L. N. White and Tlialheimer boat Tilden and Dr George King in the final of the doubles 6-3. 6-8, 7i-3, 6-4. At Forest Hills, Miss Ryan and Goss entered the finals of the doubles, defeating Mrs E. H. Roeser and Alice Francis 6-5, 6-1, and Brown and Mrs Chapin defeated Mallory and Mrs E. D. Cole in the other semi-final. ' BRISBANE, August 23.
In the Queensland championships singles final Best boat Moon (Queensland) 3-6, 6-3. 6-0, 6-0. In the doubles O’Hara Wood and Sclilesienger (Victoria) beat Moon and Thurlow (Queensland) 6-2. 6-3, 6-1.
