X.X. TENNIS ASSOCIATION. • UY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASS.W, COPYRIGHT. WELLINGTON, Aug. 21. At the annual meeting: of the Council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, the chairman, Mr M. E. Dennison said thjit the game was growing so fast in the public favour that it would not be long before it would bo at the head of the list. lie urged more interest be taken in the Wilding Memorial Shield which ought to be the Davis Cup of Now Zealand. Exception was taken to the heavy expenditure at the last championship meeting, which it was admitted was high, but the balance sheet was passed. The Maori Lawn Tennis Association was affiliated and Messrs Nffilta and Tahiwi were cordially welcomed as delegates. Affiliation was also granted to the Poverty Bay and East Coast Associations. A motion was passed recommending the preparation of a national ranking list. Mr Goodwin was elected patron. Mr E. W. Griffiths (Auckland), president, and Mr D. M. Keltn secretary.
