FOOTBALL.
KOKATAHI v. KANIERT. This junior game was played at Tvokathhi on Saturday afternoon and resulted in a draw 6 points each, Kokatahi score consisting of two penalty goals kicked by Mark Wallace and Knnieri two tries, by Howat and W. O’Brien. The game wns of a poor quality,' mainly owing to the failure of both sides to handle cleanly and was mostly a ragged scramble. Kokatahi forwards bad a decided . advantage but spoilt many openings through attempting to handle when in a scoring posil ion from forward rushes and on every occasion the attempt ended in disaster. The Kanieri team failed to show any combination. The forwards were extremely ragged, while the pivot of the backs was missing and the way the inside backs failed to stop loose forward rushes was almost painful at times. With a dry ground and perfect conditions the display was very disappointing. A draw about sums up the position. with Kokatahi having a little the worst of the luck. Mr AL Fane was referee.
