KUMARA TENNIS CLUB

,A General Meeting of the above Club was hold in the Memorial Hall, Kumara, when arrangements were made for the coming season. Mr J. A. I’eever, who took the chair, said that an effort was to be made To stimulate interest in the game, and lie felt sure that if given a lead the townspeople would rally round and ensure a successful and enjoyable season. The good number present indicated that interest was keen and if the enthusiasm would spread a little more an additional court, the need of which being most apparent, would soon be forthcoming. The following officers wore elected: President, Air J. Booth; vice-presi-dents, Atiss Watson, Airs Lewis, Alessrs G. Burger, J. Stewart, T. Sanity, H. Hamer, A. B. Spiers, J. Hurren, J. Alurpliy, H. Johnsen, R. Ford and Father Finnerty; secretary. Air W. Roxhorough: treasurer. Dr. I). Booth; captain, Air J. Peever; vice-captain, Father Finnerty; eommiilee, Airs Seebeck, Afiss Watson, Afiss Alulvihill, Arias AI. Stewart, Airs Peever. Alessrs Fox and F. J. Simpson.

The rules of the Club were revised and tho subscription fixed at 15s for gentlemen and 10s for ladies. Juvenile learners would he admitted for os for boys and 2s fid for girls,. Arrangements were made to improve the court and surroundings, and it was decided to commence work to raise funds for an additional court.
