[Reuter Telegrams.] LONDON, August 10. Middlesex in the first innings made 416 for eight declared (Hendren 199) against Surrey’s first innings of 357 for 7 (Hobbs not out 76, Jeaeocke 64). The match was abandoned.
Sussex first innings madei 323 (A. E. Gilligan 126, V. If. Gilligan 66), Freeman taking 5 for 69, and in the second innings 284 for eigiit declared (Tate 73 and Cook not out 100), Freeman taking 5 for 117. against Kent’s first innings of 215 (Woolley 101), Tate taking 6 for 55) and second 198 (Freeman not out 51). Tate taking 5 for 59. Sussex won by 196 runs.
Playing for Northants against Essex Walden made 105 not out and Jupp took 6 for 55. The match was drawn. For Worcester against Somerset M ilson took 8 for 82. The match was abandoned. For Notts against Derby Payton made 133. Lanvood took 5 for 14. The match was abandoned. . For Yorkshire against Warwick Levland made 109. The match was abandoned. For Lancashire against Glamorgan MacDonald took 5 for 68. Tyldesley 3 for 16 and Watson 4 for 14. For Glamorgan Mercer took 5 for 56. Lancashire won.
