[Australian <fc N.Z. Cable Association.] MR COOK’S REPLY. LONDON, August 6. Replying to Premier Baldwin’s statement, Mr Cook said it was entirely misleading to suggest that the families of miners were decently looked after by the Poor Relief authorities. Often there were only five or six shillings for an entire family for a week. Young unmarried man were not getting relief. The conditions cannot ho exaggerated. America should '.realize that the miners themselves are dictating the Federation’s policy. They are not being led.
