ROSS NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The Eire Brigade Ball, which took place in the Totara Hall on Friday evening passed off very successfully. There was a large attendance, Hokitika Iming well represented. The Hall was tastefully decorated with red and black streamers and greenery, while the Ross Bros.' Orchestra supplied delightful music. Miss Bella Evans playing the extras. Foremen Fellows and Richards had charge of the floor and carried out their duties well, keeping the dancers busy till about 3 a.m. Supper was served about midnight and was quite a welcome item. The attractiveness ol the function was added to by the whole of the Brigade appearing in their new uniforms.
