POLITICAL JOTTINGS
FACTORY ACCIDENTS. Accidents reported as having happened in factories for the year ending December 31st last totalled 2426. Of these 16 happened to people under 16 years of age, 406 to those between 16 and 20, and tho remaining 1952 to those over that age. About one-fourtli of the accidents were caused by machinery. Seven were fatal.
FIRE INSURANCE. The annual report of the State File .(Insurance Department,, which was laid on the table of the House yesterday, states that the total net income from all sources during the year amounted to £207,418, this being an increase of £1.7,118 over 1924. Tho net premium income was £176,664, -as compared with £165,070 for 1.924, tho increase for the year being £11,594.
