BOY SCOUTS.

The usual meeting of the Troop Committee of the Second Troop will he held next Tuesday, August 10th, at S p.m. Tile entertainment which t’b.o hoys arc giving lias been postponed a little to allow certain of the “ stars ” to recover their health and their voices hut is now quite imminent, and any parents who would he willing, to,-help on tile night in ff’e hall or behind the scenes might give notice oi the fact at this meeting. This applies equally to adult friends of the troop who are not parents of its members. The lack of scoutmasters is an old story locally, and the. scooter of the Second Hokitika will be grateful for help, of any sort on tlie night ill question. Since the last list of badges was published a week ago or so hack, the following hoys have passed their tests as Tenderfoots and have been enrolled as scouts in the Second Troop: S. Diedrichs, C. Sanders, W. Butlaiid, the first into the Ku Ku Patrol and the two latter into the Hawks. For the month of July the Second Troop Contest was won by tho Ku Kus with a rather narrow margin over the Hawks, while in the Cull Back the Brindlo Six were first, with the Browns, Blacks and Blues following close in the order named. Notices of camping plans lor the coming school holiday have been sent to the parents of all scouts and eleven year old cubs, and replies to these will be considered on Tuesday.
