TRUCE REFUSED
AIEXICO CITY, Aug. 2
The proposal from the Catholic Episcopate of Alexieo for a truce in the religious controversy has been rejected by President Calles. He said that the Federal Government would only limit itself to act with the energy that was required to enforce the laws in the country.
WHEAT CONTROL. OTTAAVA, Aug. 2. A AYinnipeg message states: —“Air A. Scott, Secretary of the North Dakota Grain Growers’ Association, and who Temporarily is secretary of the AVoiid AVheat Pool, as cabled on Feb. 13th., 1925, has notified the AVinnipeg wheat men that the Pool Committee null meet here on August 28th. to discuss, plans for complete co-opera-tion between the different memberbodies in the marketing of Canadian and American wheat' surplus. The Committee, consists of six men, three being Canadians, .representing the Alanitoba and Saskatchewan pools "and the General Sales Agency of the Canadian Co-operatives; and three Americans, representing the North Dakota, Oklahoma and Kansas City AVlieat Growers’ Association. Afr W. .Jackson,' director of the Alberta AVheat Pool, has been commissioned to go to the Argentine early in September to investigate the possibilities of forming am Argentine AVheat Pool, and to arrange for wheat crop reports for Canada.
