County cricket results are: — Against Essex, Lancashire in the first innings made 359. Makepeace scored 140 and Hallows 67. O’Connor took 5 for 81. Essex in the first innings made 77, Idilon taking 4. for 23, and in the second 129, MacDonald taking 6 for 52. Lancashire won by an innings and 153 runs. Playing Kent, Middlesex in the first made 72, Wright taking 6 for 29, and in tho second 146, Marriott taking 6 for 36. Kent in the first made 95, Haig taking 6 for 43, and in tho second 125 for S, Haig taking 6 for 54. Kent won by two wickets.

Against Notts, Hampshire in the first made ' 222 (Brown 56), Staples taking 4 for 49, and in the second 271 for 5 (declared), Mead not out 103. Notts in the first made 186 (Whysail 52 and George Gunn 55), Kennedy taking 4 for 41 and Boves 5 for 60. In the second Notts made 126 for none— George Gunn (not out) cl, Whysall (not out) 50. The game was drawn. Sussex in the first made 194 against Somerset. Bowley made 101 and Hunt took 6 for 61. In the second, Sussex made 122 for 4 declared. Somerset in the first scored 110, A. E. Gilligan taking .4 for 59, and Tate 4 for 41. In the second, Somerset made 161 for 9. Macßryan making 58, and A. E. Gilligan taking 6 for 45. The game was drawn.

For Worcester against Derby, Fox made 105 not out. Root in the first took 5 for 56, and in the second 6 for S 3. For Derby, Norton took 5 for 44. Derby won.

For Yorkshire, against Gloucester. Macaulay in the first took 6 for 49, and in the second S for 43. For Gloucester, Parker took 6 for 95. Yorkshire won. For Glamorgan against Leicester. Walters made 114 not out. Ryan took 5 for 43. For Leicester, Astill in the first took 5 for 42, and in the second 6 for SS. Leicester won.

For Northants, against Warwick. Timms made 128, Walden 122. Jupp took 6 for 112. For Warwick, Parsons made 171-. Wyatt took 5 for 75. It was a- drawn game. Rain fell throughout the country.
