Mr Johan Herman Reiseger said he heard his dog barking in the night and saw a light in the hall. He telephoned for the police, and then found Cunnington in the dining-room. The man threatened him with a chair, and Mis Reiseger, who had followed her husband, said she would go and fetch a revolver. She returned and pretended to hand something to her husband, who promised not to shoot Cunnington if he sat down.
