A French tennis official interviewed by tlio “ Daily Express ” stated there is a. doubt whether M'dlle Lenglen will he able to play at Wimbledon again. “ Many of us,” he said, “disapprove •of her actions at the recent championship and we feel that before she goes again she owes the committee of management an ample apology.” The current issue of the Journal ol American Lawn Tennis says: “ Ihe .Management Committee at AVimbledon were guilty of the enormity ol permitting the Queen to lie flouted by a semihysterical woman and doing nothing about it. The most permanent feeling is that a bluff was made and the bluffer got away with it.”

Mrs Godfree and Evelyn Colyer will he unable to play in the United States Championships at Forest Hills in August. The United States Lawn Tennis Association has been advised that the French Davis Cup team is expected to comprise Lacoste, Cochet, Borotra and Brugnon, who are sailing for New York on August 11th. This js regarded as the strongest team to visit the United States since Wilding and Brookes won the international trophy in 1914. Tilden’s return to the stage in August will keen him out of many remaining' tournaments. “ I i have notified President Mersereau of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, that if I am wanted for the challenge round in the Davis Cup at Philadelphia I will play, with an understanding that T must travel hack and forth daily in order to he in New York for the evening performances of my show.”
