ALSACE AGITATION. PARIS, June 1. The autonomous agitation in Alsace and Lorraine has reached such serious proportions tlia.t tlio French Minister of Justice, M .Pierre Laval, who has charge of the affairs of the recovered provinces, has suspended several magistrates and functionaries who .signed ■ manifesto which he considers a direct threat to the unity of the nation, and has caused a well-known notary public to be In-ought before a disciplinary court at Strasbourg with a view to his name being struck off the roll. Several ministers of religion who have signed the manifesto -are to be dealt with in accordance with the procedure of the churches to which they belong. M. Pierre Laval has informed the Alsace Commission of the Senate and Chamber that the Government can no longer tolerate the anti-French campaign which has been carried .on in Alsace and Lorraine.
