COAL TROUBLE.
MINERS TO CONFER. DELEGATES MEET SATURDAY. [Australian <fc N.Z. Cable Association.! (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, July 29. The new National Executive of the Miners’ Federation considered the report to be presented to the delegate conference to-morrow. The constitution of the Executive is considerably changed. Thirteen old members have dropped out, but Herbert Smith and other officials were re-elected. The Executive will submit to the delegates alp the information concerning the position on the various coalfields, leaving the delegates to decide whether or -not to continue the struggle. The Executive appointed a delegation to proceed to America to inform American trade unionists of the miners’ cases and raise funds. MINERS’ STATEMENT. LONDON, July 29. Following a meeting of the Minors’ Executive Mr Cook issued a statement that a memorandum was agreed upon with the Church leaders and will bo commended for the delegate conference acceptance, with a clear interpretation that it does not mean submitting hours to arbitration.
