CONSTABLE’S THEFT. LONDON, June 12. Frank Barnes Lord, 34, a constable of the P Division, living at Yalmarroad, Camberwell, pleaded guilty at Lambeth Police Court yesterday to stealing a camera value £2 Bs, the property of Hector Lawrence, a chpmist. of Camberwell Green. It was stated that Lord was placed on guard outside llie shop, where a buMarv had tLkon (place. Nothing more was heard of the matter until an anonymous letter was received at Scotland Yard stating 'that a police constable had been seen to put a camera under bis cape and walk away. Lord said to the magistrate, Mr 11. G. Booth: “I don’t know what made me do it. T already bad a better one lit- home.” Mr Rootli said he could not help feeling that something came over lord for the moment. He did not know what the Commissioner of Police would do. He bound Lord over.
