A fire destroyed the Catndon Yale Milk Company’s Depot at Cnmdon, the damage being £25,000.

Mr Saul Newbury, a Chicago millionaire, nnd his wife, who are staying at. a leading City Hotel, have been robbed of £II.OOO worth of diamond jewellery. It is believed the thief entered their suite during the occupants’ absence by means of a duplicate key, mid abstracted the jewellery ftom an unlocked suitcase. A DISPUTE SETTLED. It is expected that work will be resumed to-dav. Mr Garden (Secretary of the Labour Council) who conducted the negotiations on behalf of the men, stated the disputes committee had ordered tl e men to resume work under the terms settled. The question of wages and hours of certain cra'nedrivers not under Strite or Federal awards, will be left to the State Government for determination.
