WEST COAST RUGBY UNION

The West Coast Rugby Union met at Greymouth last evening. A nomination was received from the Westport Old Boys’ junior team for a match against United juniors on Thursday, 12th August, which was granted, subject to the former team having the consent of the Bullor Rugby Union to travel. Ashburton Sub-Union wrote accepting a match with the West Coast touring team, and suggesting Thursday, September 16. as a suitable date.—Resolved to confirm this date. It was resolved that the senior fixture for next •‘Saturday he Stars v. Hokitika at Hokitika, It was decided to advise the Westland Sub-Union that the fixtures arranged must stand, and that those players who preferred to fulfil "the junior fixture to me senior game v’ould not be considered when selecting players for senior representative matches. A letter was received from the Christchurch Primary Schools Amateur Athletic Association re sending a schools team of hoys of Bst 71b limit to the Coast, during the August vacation, and it was decided to support the suggestion and offer every possible assistance in the matter.

Merivale Club (Christchurch) advised that their junior team would play in Greymouth on 21st or 2Sth August and it was resolved to accept the latter date for a match with the Grey representatives.

It was resolved in connection with the first round of the new two-round senior competition that the forfeit of tlie Hokitika Club he counted against them, and that the Star Club’s arrangement as to altering the date of the game with Hokitika he not accepted, and the cup points be awarded as against Stars.
