ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE,

Yesterday’s fixture in the above yards brought forward an entry of 52 head of cattle, the quality, of which was equal to the best of this year’s entries. Tlie sale opened briskly and competition was keen throughout the®fixture, prime ox beef making from 38s to 42s 6d, best heifer beef 31s to 37s 6d and cows from 33s to 385., Messrs AY. Jeffries and Co. sold the following:—On account Mr E. A. Gibb 2 bullocks at £l2 10s, 6 ditto at £l2 2s 6d, 3 ditto at £ll 17s Cd, 1 heifer at £8 17s. 6d, 1 at £ll 2s Gd, 1 cow at £lO 15s, 1 cow at £ll 3s 6d. On account Mr ,T. M. Gibb 3 heifers at £lO 17s Gd, 1 at £ll 2s Gd, 2 at £ll ss, 1 cow at £8 15s. On account Mr H. Friend, 1 bullock at £ls ss, 2 ditto at £1.4 10s, 3 ditto at £l4 ss, 2 ditto at £l4 2s Gd, 1 ditto at £l3 17s Cd, 2 at £l3 15s, 4 at £l2 17s 6d, 2 at £l2, 2 steers at £lO 2s 6d, 2 ditto at £lO. 3 ditto at £B.

Messrs M. Houston and Co. report: At the fortnightly fixture at tlie above yards yesterday our entry consisted of 33 fat sheep and 49 head of fat cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers and as the total yarding was not quite sufficient for butcher’s requirements, competition was keen, especially towards the close of the sale when prices realised showed a considerable rise on those of the previous sale. Ox beef sold as high as 45s per hundred, tlie average being about 425, good cow beef from 30s to 36s per hundred. AA’c sold as follows: —On account of Mr M: Wallace 33 fat owes at 19s 6d; on account of R*. Moynihan 3 small steers at £7 10s, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £7, 2 cows at £5; on account Mr T. Statues 1 heifer and 1 cow at £8 2s 6d, 1 cow at £7 15s, 1 at £5 2s Gd, 1 vealcr at £3 Is, 2 at £2 135,, 2 small steers at £7 17s'6d; on account of Mr AV. A. Jamieson 1 cow at £9 10s, 1 at £lO, 2 at £8 ss, 1 at £8 10s, 1 at £7 17s Gd, 1 at £6: on account of Air AVm.
