NURSES’ MEMORIAL FUND. DUNEDIN, July 23. At the ninth annual meeting of the New Zealand Nurses’ Memorial Fund, the president, .Sir Undo Ferguson, said they had still a dozen annuitants who were dependent on the fund. The committee had not expended the full income this year, and as a result of some windfalls they had been able to insrease the amount of the investments, which were now £20,500. Sir George Fenwick said the fund was performing a fine service in tlio Dominie'll .In assisting those nurses laid aside by age or serious illness. Lady Alice Fergusson was re-elected uatroness.
PREENTATION TO AIR E. W. ALISON. AUCKLAND, June 23. Oil Monday the Hon Mr E. W. Alison" and Airs Alison will celebrate their golden wedding, and members of the Takapuna Jockey Club, with which Mr Alison has been connected since its inception, for many years past as President, met this afternoon to make a presentation to Air and Airs Alison. This took the form of a "Westminster chiming grand-father clock, which stands nearly seven feet in height, and a beautiful Royal Worcester afternoon tea set, in black and gold. The presentation was made by Mr W. J. Ralph on behalf of the Club.
