JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
TO BE ESTABLISHED AT , BLENHEIM,. WELLINGTON. July 22. The Education Department lias in-, timated to the Wellington Education Board its intention to inaugurate a Junior High School at Blenheim attached to Marlborough College. The chairman, Mr Forsyth, congratulated Marlborough. They were more lucky than Wellington, he said, the promise coming six months after the promise to establish a Junior High School at Lvall Bay.
The question of the synchronisation, of the school holidays was raised on a communication from the Department recommending the’ adoption of a scheme to bring this about. The secretary said there was an attempt throughout the Dominion to bring the primary school and college holidays into line. The board agreed to accept the proposed scheme and recommended that the University and Training Colleges also agree, and that the first term’s work commence on Februarv 1.
