N.Z. HOUSE. MANY ALTERATIONS. LONDON, June 17. In connection with the building of the British Medical Association iu The Strand, which the New Zealand Government has purchased for the new headquarters of the High Commissioner ami stall’, Messrs Hal Williams and Co. have been appointed to design and carry out the structurcal alterations which are necessary to fit the building for its new purpose. Mr Williams, who is a New Zealander, is one of the leading structural engineers and achiteets in England, and was responsible for the design of the refrigerating cabinets which attracted so much attention at Wembley, in the New Zealand Pavilion, and also for other work there required by the Exhibition Commissioner, Sir A. F. Roberts. Mr .Williams has associated with him Mr R. N. Vanes, of Dunedin. Mr Vanes is an Associate of the Royal Institution of British Architects, and has had a great deal of architectural experience, both in New Zealand and in England. It is gratitying to think that New Zealand’s workin tlio Mother Country is being carried out by New Zealanders.
