ART UNIONS CONDEMNED. Some caustic comment on the policy of the committee of the Alanawatu A. and P. Association in conducting an art union for the purpose of raising funds for grounds improvements was made by Air R. IV. Brown, of Colvton, ill a letter which was read at the monthly meeting of the committee. “I have at least as much loyalty to your association as to enter as_ emphatic a protest as an individual can against its descending as low as to try to raise money by ail art union,” said the writer. “ AYlint kind of men. will you have for farmers in the next generation if this is the example you set the young folks now?” “The thing is absolutely rotton,” he continued. “I return the papers sent to me. and trust the association will modify its policy in the future, or else allow my name to he removed from its membership roll.” On the motion of the president (Air James Knight) it was decided that the communication he received, and that the writer be asked not to ' take any drastic action in the matter.
