wall JUNG TON, July 21. In reply to Mr Seddon the Minister of Public Works stated that the matter of a vote for an extension of the railway south of Ross to the point already authorised by Parliament will receive consideration when the Public Works Kstimates are under review.

“'l’lie lion, gentleman may rely on Westland receiving fair treatment at the hands of the Tourist Department in any matter which comes within its scope,” was the reply which Mr Seddon got from Hon Mr Nosworthy in answer to a question respecting the treatment of fhe beauties of the Coast.

In the House Hon. K. S. Williams (Minister of Public Works) stated that the bridge over the Waiho River, South Westland, is expected to be completed in February next, given reasonable weather, so that an earlier date than that given for completion cannot reasonably be quoted.
