Mr Amery replied he fci.ired there was little prospect of finding employment for miners at their own trade overseas. The question of settling'them on the land was being considered, but any scheme in this direction would require' the full approval of the overseas Governments. Ho promised to bring the matter up at the Imperial Conference. Mr Amery announced that he and Mr Ormsby Goro would represent the Crown Colonies and Protectorates at the Imperial Conference. In the House in a discussion on the qUestiou o| inter-allied debts, some Labourites strongly criticised the Gov- ( erment’s action in granting other A nations concessions without, receiving a quid pro quo therefore. A DEPUTATION. (Received this day at 12.25 p.mA LONDON, July 19. The “ Daily Telegraph ” states that a deputation of the Industrial Christian Fellowship, including several Bishops, saw Mr Baldwin at the House of Commons and urged that the Government should subsidise the mining industry. The whole national settlement being negotiable. There was a vague mention of a possible loan, but no practical plan was outlined and the ' deputation was resultlesd. The Fellowship, however, is continuing its , efforts.
