(BV TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION THE HOUSE. 'l'he House met- :it< 2.30 p.nt. -Hie afternoon sitting was wholly occupied with ji discussion on the Immigration Department’s .report. At the evening sitting, Mr Holland (Leader of the Opposition) was permitted to move the second reading of the Nationalisation of Coal Mines Bill, alter which the Speaker ruled the Bill out of order, because it.contained appropriation clauses, which could only be brought down by the Government. The second reading of the Offenders’ Probation Amendment Bill was moved by Mr J. A. Lee (Auckland East) and agreed to, the Bill being sent to the Statutes Revision Committee. The House then went into Committee on the following Bills:—Census and Statistics Bill (lion Bollard), Oil in Territorial Waters Bill (Hon Anderson!; (Evidence Amendment Bill (Hon Bolleston), Destitute Persons Amendment Bill (Hon Bolleston), Death Duties Amendment Bill (Hr Downie Stewart). These Bills were all read a third time and passed, and at 11.10 p.in. the House rose til! 2.30 p.m. next day.
